Finding GameStop Coupons

When you want free GameStop coupons, all you have to do is jump on the Internet or open your local paper. There are tons of GameStop locations, with more than 6,100 stores worldwide. GameStop is headquartered near Dallas, Texas, but if you live in America you probably aren’t far from a GameStop store.

Here’s a guide to finding printable GameStop coupons 2012. Using these coupons can help you save even more money on the used and new video games you want.

1. Search for Free GameStop Coupons Online

Free coupons online are easy to find, the same goes for free GameStop coupons. The Internet is bursting with free coupons. If you spend a few minutes searching, you can find a GameStop coupon before you hit the store or the website to do your game shopping.

Begin your online GameStop coupon search at any of the dozens of good third party coupon hosting site like RetailMeNot. RetailMeNot has a page set aside for free GameStop coupons, coupon codes for the GameStop online store, and occasionally printable coupons you can print out for use in-store as well.

Some other decent websites to find GameStop coupons at:  dealspl.us, dropdowndeals.com, and GameStop’s corporate website.

2. Find GameStop Coupons on Social Media Pages

In case you’ve been living under a rock, you should know that companies now make social media pages as a kind of cheap advertising. When you join their page or “like” their social media account, you’ll usually find some sort of access to free stuff of some kind.

Look for GameStop’s Twitter and Facebook pages. Check out GameStop on Twitter and GameStop on Facebook for deals you won’t find elsewhere. Usually, you have to “add” or “like” a company’s Facebook page to get access to the deal, and that’s true for GameStop.

Coupons and offers through GameStop’s social media sites in the past have been special buy one get one free deals on used games and small percent off deals for select new titles.

3. Look In Your Local Paper for Free GameStop Coupons

Believe it or not, your newspaper still prints coupons. GameStop runs ads in some local papers including coupons and other deals. Since newspapers are losing money left and right, running ads and coupons in newspapers is cheaper than ever.

GameStop has been known to print coupons and deals in local newspapers to drum up business or announce a new store opening. Look in your local paper for special one-day sales on all used games for as much as half off the sticker price.

Finding free GameStop coupons isn’t hard, you just have to know where to look. The next time you want to go video game shopping, look for free coupons online and in your local paper and head to your neighborhood GameStop.

Best Online Trivia Games   no comments

Posted at 3:00 pm in Games

As a Trivial Pursuit junkie, I spend as much time as I can studying trivia. Every local bar that offers a trivia game has a stool with my name on it. I buy all the latest trivia books from the neighborhood bookstore. And I’m a regular at every one of the best online trivia games, no matter the topic.

Here’s a look at my favorite online trivia games on every topic imaginable, from Harry Potter to classic rock.

FunTrivia.com has a wide range of trivia games on any topic you can imagine, though the site’s layout isn’t exactly user-friendly or easy on the eyes. I like the sheer size of the site, the daily updated trivia games on a host of topics, and the low ad content. I can jump in at FunTrivia.com and give myself a quick trivia test before a round of Quizzo at the local pub.

Sporcle.com bills itself as a site for “mentally stimulating diversions.” That’s my kind of trivia site. The focus at sporcle.com seems to be on sports, probably because of the large sports fan community on the site. Still, it is a quick and easy trivia training session with not a lot of flash or distraction.

Riddler.com, while not a trivia-specific site, is a good way to keep your brain sharp and in focus. I prefer the long list of “puzzles and brain games” from tile-matching to sudoku. Easy to navigate and also pretty much ad-free.

QuickTrivia.com is another collection of trivia games from all different categories, easy to search and access and easy to play. My favorite feature here is their “random, free-for-all trivia” game that acts as a perfect study session for any kind of trivia game you can imagine, including Trivial Pursuit and other trivia based games.

Trivia games are all over the Internet, and the popularity of trivia means that you can find a live trivia game in any part of the world. Using the above online trivia games as a study tool or as a quick diversion is the best way to get a quick trivia fix.

Characteristics of an Effective Training   no comments

Organizations invest time, money, effort, talents and manpower for training. There are different categories of training. Some are for enhancement of skills and knowledge while the others focus on non-tangible aspects of the group such as leadership style, teambuilding, conflict resolution, interpersonal skills and setting priorities.

So, how can organizations ensure that a training meets the objective it is expected to attain? Here are some characteristics of an effective training:

  • Continuous learning and development. A training should provide new skills and knowledge to the team members. A training should enhance existing dynamics and processes of the group.
  • Structure. There should be a training plan to make sure everything flows smoothly during the training. The entire process – from the planning to the execution to the evaluation – is crucial.
  • Effective training environment. The training should be conducted in an environment conducive to learning. The environment should be free from disruptions so that the participants can maximize the learning.
  • Goals. The training should be anchored on the organization’s goals. The training should be synchronized to fit the overall vision and mission of the organization.

The Best Web Casinos   no comments

There are thousands of choices in Internet casinos out there. Sometimes they are called virtual casinos and Internet casinos. It is hard to make a choice and sift through the thousands of options out there. Each casino claims to offer the most games, the better graphics, and the biggest sign-up bonuses, but you also need to pay attention to the deposit and withdrawal options to see if they are amenable to what you are trying to do. Always avoid brand new casinos when picking one out because the old established online casinos have the most players and the most credibility. If they’ve just launched in the past few days, they could be a fly-by-night casino that is just trying to steal your money. Some casinos also offer deceptive bonus packages that aren’t really accurate. If the bonus is too hard to clear, it is in effect, just like stealing your dough. Some online casinos accept all players from all over the world. Excellent support teams are a boost at most good online casinos. Third-party software powers many online casinos, and a standard piece of software may comprise up to 100 games. If you’re familiar with the software at one casino, then you can migrate over to another consumer, and you will still feel at home with the software. Many online casinos have daily promotional deals, cash for comp programs, and fantastic customer support.

Online casinos should operate on a transparent and clean basis with a lot of credibility and trustworthiness behind them established over several years with a client base from all over the world. That threshold is not too high to reach because many online casinos have reached it. Avoid casinos with poor odds. Online casinos should be very upfront about the kind of odds they offer. They should offer odds that are the same as offline casinos. The odds should adhere to the basic rules of the game. Brick-and-mortar casino odds should apply.

Bad online casinos will generally have few user reviews. If you run a search on Google and try to learn about it, it may have very little information pertaining to how well it treats its clients. You want to stay away from those casinos that don’t have any ratings because there’s no way to tell if they’re trustworthy. A good online casino should at least have a Wikipedia entry or some general comments from users on forums.

What Good Is Free Online Poker?   no comments

Posted at 10:49 am in Games

If you’re like me, you turn your nose up at free online poker games. If you remove the money aspect from the game, it’s not really poker anymore, is it? But free online poker does have its uses.

For one thing, if you’re new to the game, you can use a free online poker game to learn how to play poker. Even though you’re basically playing for the equivalent of Monopoly money and bragging rights, the action in a free Texas holdem game is the same as it would be in any other poker game.

So before you drive to the nearest cardroom to learn how to play poker, you might consider spending a little time learning the basic ins and outs of the game online. You don’t have to risk any money, and understanding how the action progresses will help you out in all kinds of ways the first time you sit down to play at a live poker table.

Another free poker option for people who just don’t like using computers is the bar poker game where you play for prize money without buying in. Most of the people who play in these kinds of amateur poker freerolls are willing to teach. And they won’t make fun of you for being new.

In fact, my suggestion is to learn how to play in this order:

  1. Play some free online poker.
  2. Play some free poker at the local tavern.
  3. Play real poker for real money at a nearby casino cardroom.

Best of luck with your poker journey!

How to Play Texas Holdem   no comments

Posted at 11:50 am in Games

Learning how to play Texas holdem takes practice and a lot of work (not to mention frustration), but if you do your homework and spend a little time on it, your new holdem hobby could be a profitable enterprise.

If you want a quick and dirty guide to how to play Texas holdem–you’re in luck. I’ve got the quickest and dirtiest possible explanation below.

1. The first step is for all players to place blinds and antes as bets so there is an initial amount of cash to get the game going.

2. The dealer shuffles a standard deck. Every player is dealt two cards face down. These are called your hole cards or pocket cards.

3. The first round of betting starts with the player to the left of the blinds. This is the “preflop betting round.” You can either call, raise, or fold.

4. After the first betting round ends, the dealer discards the top card of the deck. This is called a burn card.

5. The dealer then flips the next three cards face up on the table. This is called “the flop.” These are cards that anyone can use in combination with their pocket cards to form a hand.

6. The player to the left of the dealer starts another betting round.

7. After the betting ends, the dealer burns again then flips another communal card onto the table. This is called “the turn.”

8. The player to the left of the dealer starts another betting round. The pot size often doubles by this point in the game.

9. The dealer burns another card and places a final card face up on the table. This is called “the river.” Players can now use any of the five cards on the table or the two cards in their pocket to form a hand.

10. There is one final round of betting starting with the player to the left of the dealer.

11. Now is the time for “the showdown.” Players who have not folded reveal their hands, beginning with the player to the left of the last player to call. Players use any combination of their pocket cards and the common cards to form the best possible poker hand. The player who shows the best hand wins. If there are two players with the same hand, the pot is split between them.

Texas holdem is a game with simple rules and complex strategy. Now that you know the basic way to play Texas holdem, learn some strategy and you’ll be a poker pro in no time.

5 Best Free Poker Tools   no comments

Posted at 10:27 am in Games

The Internet has lowered the price of everything. Think about it–why would anyone buy a book at a bookstore when they could buy a “slightly used” version from Amazon or eBay? The same goes for poker strategy, advice, and other tools to help improve your poker game. You can buy books and software to improve your poker game, or you could take advantage of these five totally free poker tools.

1. Poker Articles

Maybe the best tool in any poker player’s toolkit is a collection of (well-written, sound) poker articles.

Online poker articles pretty much run the spectrum from really bad to excellent. A good way to separate the wheat from the chaff is to look for writing that is easy to read, grammatically correct, and unique. The best place to find these articles is from a poker site you trust (not a site crammed with reviews and ads) or from an active poker forum.

2. Holdem Indicator

This is a free poker odds calculator that has been around for years. This tool displays all kinds of odds for every hand, including pot odds and win odds. This tool also displays useful information about the other players at your table, like mucked hands and odds. Table average stats and a load of other poker stats are super easy to figure out when a tool like this displays them right there on your screen.

3. PokerTracker

I know the word “free” is right there in the title of this article, but PokerTracker is more like what I’d call “mostly free.” You can get a free trial of this awesome poker database before you decide if it’s the right poker tool for you. PokerTracker is an entire suite of poker tools that helps you “track, analyze, and . . . improve” your poker game no matter what poker variant you’re playing.

4. PokerCrusher

Another “mostly free” poker tool, you can take advantage of a 5-day free trial of PokerCrusher when you visit their website. This tool is a database of millions of online poker players, analyzing their strengths, weaknesses, and betting patterns. My favorite part of PokerCrusher is the little icon that pops up next to poker players at your table, automatically alerting you to their basic playing style, be it “green fish”, “shark”, “mouse”, or any other style.

5. Poker Usher

Ever wanted a better way to find tournaments and games that are more likely to be profitable? The totally-free Poker Usher program identifies good poker profit opportunities across online poker rooms from all over the world.

Family Game Night   no comments

Posted at 10:09 am in Games

Remember family game night? Many families have given up the practice of gathering around the dinner table for games of Monopoly or a few hands of a favorite card game in favor of letting their kids play video games. The tradition of family game night is as old as human history–and there’s no substitute for playing games with your whole family.

Popular family games are pretty much the same as regular board games, from trivia games like Trivial Pursuit all the way down to games aimed at young children like Chutes and Ladders. What makes a game good for family game night?

Ease of Play

Popular board games tend to have steep learning curves, meaning it may take your family a game or two before everyone learns the rules. If your family has younger children, you may want to pick an easier game so they don’t get frustrated and bored.

Replay Value

Good family game night games should have high replay value–that means that your family can play them again and again and not lose interest. Word games, like Balderdash or Boggle, have high replay value because the words and gameplay are always a little different. Children’s games like Sorry! or Chutes and Ladders have less replay value, but might be good for younger players.

Educational Value

As your children get older, games for family game night should become more and more educational. You don’t have to hit your kids over the head with a game’s educational value–they may not realize that they’re learning while they play. The most educational games are kinetic games like Cranium or Pictionary. These games also have high replay value.

There are other ways to pick a game for family game night, but it is a good place to start. Match your family’s specific needs to the games your family already knows and loves for the perfect family game night.

How to Win at Roulette (No, Really)   no comments

Posted at 8:34 am in Games

Want to know how to win at roulette? The answer’s really simple–you can’t. But you can give yourself small advantages by following these simple rules.

1. Ignore Roulette Systems

Put simply, they don’t work. Don’t waste your time. No roulette betting system has ever been devised that actually has an impact on your ability to win or lose.

2. Play European Roulette

European roulette has only one “0″ space, while American roulette adds an extra slot and an extra zero, doubling the house edge.

Casinos offering only American roulette make twice as much money as European style roulette wheels.

3. Don’t Place Bad Bets

The worst bets in roulette are ‘corner’ bets, which give the casino a nearly 8% edge. Single number bets pay out a massive 35 to 1, but they do so for a reason. The odds of you placing a correct wager on a single number bet are astronomical. If you want to win money playing roulette, don’t place single number or corner bets.

4. Vary Your Bets

Varying your bets and focusing on certain sections of the roulette table is a good method of ensuring that you minimise your risks.

5. Have Fun

“Winning” at roulette is a relative thing. If you get a few free cocktails, have a good laugh with your new roulette friends, and avoid losing too much money, you’ve “won” in a sense. Casino gaming is fun, so if you find yourself getting frustrated, red in the face, or losing more money than you’re comfortable with, walk away. Go watch a live show or have a nice meal.

Like any casino game, your emotions can kill your bankroll faster than a bad corner bet. If you can avoid getting upset, place only “good” bets, and don’t try to outsmart the randomness of the roulette wheel, you’ll be way ahead of the game. Vary your bets, avoid roulette betting systems, and try to have a good time.

Popular Slot Machines   no comments

Posted at 9:54 am in Games

The biggest phenomenon in slot machines these days are slots based on popular TV shows and movies. One reason why Sex and the City slots are so popular is the fact that the built-in fan base is just massive. A popular TV show AND movie, Sex and the City boasts millions of fans around the world. The slot itself is aimed mainly at women, though men can enjoy the fashion-themed bonus games and other special features just as much as women. The top prize is 500,000 credits, and even though the max bet per spin is a massive $6, this slot remains one of the most popular new machines on any casino floor.

Bally Technologies has a real winner in their strangely popular Hee Haw Slot Machines. Yeah, the TV show these slots are based on is as old as the dinosaurs, but something about the country theme still draws in slot gamers by the millions. Goofy reel symbols are always a hit, and Hee Haw slot machines have them in spades, from a donkey to a bale of hay. The 200 credit bet max is kind of high, but the top prize is 500,000 credits, tempting gamblers to go for the gold.

Another hugely popular slot machine is IGT’s Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania. Part of their “Reel Touch” slots, Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania is easily the weirdest slot I’ve ever played. A lobster theme? Lobster traps? Fishermen? Why this slot is so popular is beyond me, but it is. The top prize isn’t huge, just 50,000 credits, but the minimum bet required to qualify for that top jackpot is just 25 credits. LLL has three bonus games, so you don’t get bored with this slot as quickly as you might with other slot games.

Slot machines come and go in popularity, though many titles have stuck with us for years. The latest in slot technology is to combine good slot machine play with popular TV and movies. Look for the above titles at your favorite slot bank.
