Posted at 8:35 am in Food and Drink

Put the ice, the whiskey and the refreshing drink and you will have the perfect shot in seconds! The shot dispenser is an accessory that must not miss from any booze party with your friends. Sure, there is always the possibility to poor the drinks by yourself, but with the help of the dispenser, you will be able to create drinks that you never thought about before. If you are the owner of a bar, you will have to buy many dispensers for your clients. However, even for your own house, a universal device of this kind is mandatory.

How to entertain your friends

Your cocktails and shots will have a certain flavor, and the drinks will start flowing. Just open the bottle and put the stopper inside. Put the bottle with the bottom up in the shot dispenser and ask your friends to serve themselves whenever they want to. Watch out, as the little toy might create addiction. It is going to be harder and harder for your friends to use the dispenser after a few shots; therefore, you might think about pouring the drinks by yourself. Make sure to find a great quality item.

Protecting your dispenser

Let’s be honest: we are talking about drunken persons trying to use a device. This is why they might break it in the process. Find a tarnish resistant shot dispenser made of aluminum and steel, and you won’t have to worry about your clumsy friends breaking it. Moreover, keep an eye on the stoppers of the dispensers. Those small pieces of metal might be easily lost; therefore, it would be a good idea to buy some more stoppers. Better, find a provider that is able to sell you a dispenser with many stoppers. The stoppers are also different, as you will need to prepare different types of drinks with the dispenser. Make sure you have all the accessories and start an incredible party now!

Coffee in the Movies   no comments

Coffee in the Movies

Coffee plays an important part in many people’s lives, so it’s natural that it would make a number of appearances on the big screen. The following list details some of the most notable examples of coffee in the movies, and I urge you to see each and every one. I also urge you to use Starbucks coffee coupons whenever possible.

  • Kicking and Screaming – Will Ferrell plays a vitamin salesman who winds up coaching his son’s soccer team. Then Mike Ditka introduces him to the joys of coffee, and the mild-manner dad suddenly becomes a raging maniac.
  • Bruce Almighty – When he gains the power of God, Bruce (Jim Carrey) uses his divine abilities to get coffee straight from Juan Valdez.
  • The Usual Suspects – This Oscar-winning film features a moment where the bottom of a coffee cup takes on major importance to the plot.
  • Coffee and Cigarettes – Director Jim Jarmusch directs the ultimate film about coffee, including stars such as Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray, Iggy Pop, Steve Buscemi, Steven Wright, Alfred Molina, and members of the Wu Tang Clan.
  • The Bucket List – The character played by Jack Nicholson loves a rare blend of coffee known as Kopi Luwak. The Morgan Freeman character eventually informs him that this coffee is made by first passing beans through the digestive tract of cats.
  • Pulp Fiction – While this Quentin Tarantino film deals with crime and not coffee, there is a funny scene where a character played by Tarantino shares his philosophy on coffee with a couple of hitmen played by John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson.
  • O Lucky Man! – Malcolm McDowell reprises the role of Mick Travis from if…, this time starting the movie as a coffee salesman for a UK company.
  • Glengarry GlenRoss – One of Alec Baldwin’s most famous movie scenes comes when he orders a salesman played by Jack Lemmon to “Put that coffee down!” After all, “Coffee is for closers.”

That finishes up our look at coffee in the movies. You should have a number of new options for your Netflix queue, not to mention discovering the joy of Starbucks coffee coupons.

How to Save Money on Italian Food   no comments

Posted at 12:54 pm in Cooking,Food and Drink

If you’re like me, you love eating Italian food, whether it’s prepared at a restaurant or at home. Depending on your taste preferences, Italian food can be expensive or affordable. Making a quick tomato sauce to serve with pasta without meat is  pretty affordable. And minestrone is cheap enough to prepare too. On the other hand, a nice Alfredo can be considerably more expensive, because cream, butter, and cheese all cost a bit more than tomatoes.

One way to save money on Italian food is to eat at Italian restaurants, but only eat there when you have coupons. For example, Olive Garden coupons are easy to find and print online. If you split a meal with a dining partner, you can save even more money. Portion sizes at most restaurants are more than enough for two people. You could have an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert, and as long as you share all of it with someone, you won’t have to worry about eating too many calories or destroying your bank account.

Another way to save money on Italian food is to pay attention to what’s on sale at the local grocery store. Cooking at home is always cheaper than eating at a restaurant, and if you shop the sales, then you don’t even need Olive Garden coupons to save money on your favorite Italian meals. Finding grocery coupons to use is as easy as buying a Sunday newspaper, but you can also find grocery coupons to print online.

Another way to save money on Italian food is to host a potluck party for a bunch of friends who also enjoy Italian food. Since you’re only one of several people providing dishes at the Italian-themed potluck, your expenses can be correspondingly more affordable. And it’s a chance to spend some time socializing.

Healthy Novelty Cakes   no comments

Posted at 12:34 am in Recipes

Decorating a cake requires patience which may discourage people who are setting forth in the confectionary industry. However, as is the case of every good thing, novelty cakes may look complicated to make, but in fact are very easy to make. One can make this process a lot easier with store bought frosting and boxed cake mixes. Some cakes which are a lot in demand are listed as below:

Sports Ball Cake

Sports cakes can be made of any ball game as usually all of them are round. The batter can be baked in a metal mixing bowl which is sprayed with a nonstick cooking spray. This works better than using a cake pan. One requires a 2 qt mixing bowl for each box of cake mix. One can test the cake after 40 minutes by inserting a wooden skewer into the center. One needs to allow the cake to cool in the bowl for about 20 minutes. One can run a knife between the edge of the cake and the bowl to loosen the cake. Before inverting the bowl, one needs to place a serving platter or a cake plate. To make the sports cake more realistic, one can decorate it with tinted icing to represent the correct sports ball. For instance black shoestring liquorice and orange frosting will make a basketball cake and alternate white and black frosting is football cake.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake

One can bake a strawberry cake in a heart shaped pan. One can tint the frosting with red paste food coloring and frost the whole cake. The liquid food coloring is no match for the paste food coloring as it gives a richer red color. One can add the leaves on top of the “strawberry” by cutting green taffy into the shape of leaves and pasting them on top of the strawberry. One can apply sliced almonds to give the appearance of seeds. To add a special touch, one can place chocolate candy melts to the icing. One can place wax paper strips under the cake to cover the serving platter. This helps make minimal mess. The melted candy melts can be poured over the bottom to give an appearance of a strawberry dipped in chocolate.

Beach Cakes

These novelty cakes can be created in shape of any cake. To depict sea side one can use food coloring to represent water and then the entire cake can be frosted. One can crush wafers of vanilla or graham crackers to depict sand. Fruit roll ups in colors of green can represent weed.

These are some of the cakes that can be made by people who have time on their hands and want to create a truly memorable cakes. Novelty cakes are usually baked to either commemorate a special event or to turn an ordinary event into a special events. So, to make your event special, go ahead and make a novelty cake for yourself!
