Best Online Trivia Games   no comments

Posted at 3:00 pm in Games

As a Trivial Pursuit junkie, I spend as much time as I can studying trivia. Every local bar that offers a trivia game has a stool with my name on it. I buy all the latest trivia books from the neighborhood bookstore. And I’m a regular at every one of the best online trivia games, no matter the topic.

Here’s a look at my favorite online trivia games on every topic imaginable, from Harry Potter to classic rock.

FunTrivia.com has a wide range of trivia games on any topic you can imagine, though the site’s layout isn’t exactly user-friendly or easy on the eyes. I like the sheer size of the site, the daily updated trivia games on a host of topics, and the low ad content. I can jump in at FunTrivia.com and give myself a quick trivia test before a round of Quizzo at the local pub.

Sporcle.com bills itself as a site for “mentally stimulating diversions.” That’s my kind of trivia site. The focus at sporcle.com seems to be on sports, probably because of the large sports fan community on the site. Still, it is a quick and easy trivia training session with not a lot of flash or distraction.

Riddler.com, while not a trivia-specific site, is a good way to keep your brain sharp and in focus. I prefer the long list of “puzzles and brain games” from tile-matching to sudoku. Easy to navigate and also pretty much ad-free.

QuickTrivia.com is another collection of trivia games from all different categories, easy to search and access and easy to play. My favorite feature here is their “random, free-for-all trivia” game that acts as a perfect study session for any kind of trivia game you can imagine, including Trivial Pursuit and other trivia based games.

Trivia games are all over the Internet, and the popularity of trivia means that you can find a live trivia game in any part of the world. Using the above online trivia games as a study tool or as a quick diversion is the best way to get a quick trivia fix.

FSH levels Sexual Hormones   no comments

Posted at 3:08 am in health

FSH—Follicle Stimulating Hormone, is one of the most vital sexual health hormones among females and males. However, in women FSH levels are more crucial for ensuring appropriate reproductive health. FSH levels have a tendency to rise in the puberty stage onwards. FSH is responsible for some fundamental reproductive health processes including ovulation and menstruation in women and maturation of sperm among men.

FSH levels are generally checked through normal urine and blood tests. The most common factors for conducting this sort of screening include delayed or premature onset of puberty traits. It has been established that FSH levels have a tendency to change in conjunction with Luteinizing Hormone or LH levels. These two hormones are principal responsible for ensuring appropriate ovulation and menstruation apart from generating certain that the female is in a position to sustain her pregnancy. Women who are about to reach or have entered menopause have a tendency for getting higher than usual FSH levels. This makes it nearly impossible to conceive inside a natural, unassisted manner.

Usually, LH and FSH levels have a tendency to rise exponentially from puberty onwards until the age of 40 years and in the age of 45 years onwards, the level of FSH tends to dip seriously with each progressing year. Apart from infertility, factors for which FSH level screening is ordered include other hormonal disorders, including Estrogen Dominance among women. This really is mainly because disturbed FSH levels have a tendency to impair the overall hormonal balance of reproductive/sexual hormones.

Characteristics of an Effective Training   no comments

Organizations invest time, money, effort, talents and manpower for training. There are different categories of training. Some are for enhancement of skills and knowledge while the others focus on non-tangible aspects of the group such as leadership style, teambuilding, conflict resolution, interpersonal skills and setting priorities.

So, how can organizations ensure that a training meets the objective it is expected to attain? Here are some characteristics of an effective training:

  • Continuous learning and development. A training should provide new skills and knowledge to the team members. A training should enhance existing dynamics and processes of the group.
  • Structure. There should be a training plan to make sure everything flows smoothly during the training. The entire process – from the planning to the execution to the evaluation – is crucial.
  • Effective training environment. The training should be conducted in an environment conducive to learning. The environment should be free from disruptions so that the participants can maximize the learning.
  • Goals. The training should be anchored on the organization’s goals. The training should be synchronized to fit the overall vision and mission of the organization.
